best over the counter pain relief for teeth?

I just had my wisdom teeth out, the tylonel 3 they gave me doesnt help with pain and makes me a bit neautious.

What type of over the counter pain reliever is best (if its blood thinning will it interfere with the blood clots that have to be there because of the wisdom teeth removal? I thought tylonol was blood thining so why would they give me tylonel 3?)

Ibuprofen is also very good for dental pain, being both a pain killer and an anti-inflammatory, and it does not cause blood thinning. Tylenol can cause very slight blood thinning, but only if taken at very high doses regularly. Aspirin is the major over the counter pain killer that causes blood thinning, so that would be the one for you to avoid. Also ice packs, or bags of frozen peas, can help with the pain and swelling.

I drank 4 Tylenol Extra Pain Relief pills by accident. Is this bad?

I forgot I had already drank 2 of them about 10 mins. earlier. I don’t know how on earth I couldn’ve forgotten. I just took the packet and drank them, then I automatically thought “wait…..i just drank these..”. They’re those over-the-counter ones. They’re little packets with 2 pills in them. They are shaped like a capsule, but they’re a red solid. How will they affect me?

what was your choice of pain relief an would you recommend it for labour.?

Hey!

Well i went half way through my labour with nothing, and then i decided to have gas..
but for it to work you have to keep sucking and sucking.. which i didnt work out straight away, so i was in alot of pain, so i had the pethadine shot, and soon as i got that, everything just sped up for me..

when i was getting stitches they ‘numbed’ down there, but really i swear they didnt haha.. so i was using the gas, and it worked, cos the stitches were worse then the actual labor..

you dont really loose the pain with gas, you just get really spaced out if you know what i mean, like your drunk, but you can still feel the pain, i just think it takes your mind off it.. and the pethadine, you can still feel pain but you relax alot..

Is there any relief to joint pain during chemotherapy?

I am tired of taking pain killers – I hate how they make me feel.
My oncologist has no other suggestions for me and I am very frustrated! Does anyone have any tips for me?

We used heating pads on our 15 year son when his joints hurt. He also did “mini” work outs on his arms and legs to keep them moving. He too hated all the meds (and still hates any kind of pill) but they do help to lessen the pain. See if there is a lighter dose or another medicine that has less side effects. Unfortunately chemo kills the good with the bad and the side effects of it last for a while into remission. You have to keep your self healthy and as fit as possible during treatment and after.

What kind of exercise are suitable to relief knee pain cause by osteoarthritis?

In addition to what has been posted above ,by ‘thelastp’ I would recommend doing Quadriceps exercises.

Quadriceps is the muscle in front of the thigh. Developing that muscle prevents disabilities due to osteo arthritis of the knee.

One such exercise is

1. Lie on a flat surface with face up and legs extended and together. With each leg do the following exercises
2. Raise the extended leg about 9 inches wit knee extended and count up to 10 seconds and lower. Repeat about 15 times.
Do the same with the other limb too.

Do these exercises at least once daily through out.

What are the pros of a natural birth? (no pain relief)?

Hey, im 33 weeks pregnant,first baby and seriously thinking of a natural birth, I really dont want the epidural, but ill have it on stand-by just in case the pain is too bad. What are the advantages of a natural birth, for the women who have experienced it? And please dont mention the pain, I am expecting the pain to be like torture anyway. Thanks!
Suki, im in Ireland and we can have an epidural on standby if we need it.
Suki, maybe your pain threshold is really low? You mightnt be able to do it, but millions can.

i dont like needles i dont mind an iv but one going in my spine scares me .is there other meds they use

You could also get medicine through your iv, it usually just put me to sleep but I could still feel the contractions while I was out, and it wears off quickly

How can i get relief for nerve pain, maybe some kind of home remedity?

I have a knot in a muscle in my left shoulder, causing nerve pain to shoot down my arm, and now it hurts so bad I can’t even massage it .
Iv’e been to the doctors,going on four months now. i got a cortizone shot which 3 weeks ago, which easied the pain, and went for an mri last week , they still can’t do anything for me. it hurts so bad now. i.m just looking for something that could ease the pain somewhat. shots , therapy doesn’t work. Some massage tecnique, a gel, or rub. honey, magnet, anything. Please help!!

have you tried a muscle relaxer such as zanaflex? also moist heat 3 to 4 time a day helps loosen the muscle. I get knots in my neck and back due to fibromyalgia. They get very big and hurt so much sometimes I can’t move my head. I get injections of lidocaine and a steroid in the knots about every 6 weeks it is a tempory fix but helps quite a bit. It usually helps the pain for about 4 to 41/2 weeks.

AZO pain relief for UTI symptoms?

I have had 3 uti’s and used AZO for pain relief and it has always worked, but it’s not anymore. It comes into affect quickly, usually, but I took the tablets 2.5 hours ago and the pain keeps getting worse and won’t go away. I know it’s in my system already because my pee is bright orange.
The question is, why isn’t it working?
